Professions and Skills - Pre-searing

Here is the situation: My character is a necromancer, I would like her secondary profession to be ranger. The person I am playing with is an elementalist, and will not be a ranger as her second profession. To get our second professions do we need to do those quests seperatly?
So I should go and do the necromancer skill quests and the ranger skill quests alone cause she can get nothing from them and vice versa?
and if I do the skill quests for ranger will that become my secondary profession?
or can you just do all the quests...?
I want to be able to get all the skill quests I can for pre-searing...so I should just go and do all those first?

Also, is there a certain order the quests need to be done in?

You can do all the quests together. No profession choice is permanent until you make the final selection.
Both of you should do all the profession quests as you will need those free skills in the future for possible heroes or secondary profession changes.

No special order required other than you cannot skip ahead to the next quest in the same profession line.

NOTE: there is a website just for pre-searing at http://www.presearing.com
and the wiki http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Main_Page

The wiki can be accessed in-game by F10 or help on menu or by typing /wiki in the chat bar.

Thanks!
so is the final selection when you enter the acadamy? and how will we do all the skill quests if we already have secondary professions? it says in the wiki for alot of those quests that you cant do them with a secondary profession...
The fact that you just cant choose 2 professions and just deal with those is confusing me.

First off, The Academy is to exit Pre-Searing permanently. Do Not accept that quest until you are ready to leave as there is no way back(except to delete and restart your character).

Secondly, "A Second Profession" is the quest you take to gain a secondary. You can do it in any order(all five options are open until you accept the reward) and with your friend. But do not accept the quest reward until you have decided which secondary you want. Just visit the appropriate npc when you are ready to choose. After that, you'll only have access to the remaining skill quests for your primary and secondary.

Do note that you'll also be able to change your secondary at a later point in the game.
